Research Associate Kris Autobee was a participant in PastForward 2019, National Trust for Historic Preservation Conference, Denver, Colorado on October 12, 2019. As field study session manager of “A Peculiar Wilderness: Neon on West Colfax”, Ms. Autobee organized a city planner, a neon bender, and a grass roots organizer on a tour of neon sign preservation on West Colfax Avenue, Colorado’s “Gateway to the Rockies” The evening ended with dinner at Casa Bonita, the “world’s weirdest Mexican restaurant,” portrayed in a 2003 episode of South Park.
